Liverpool could face a major battle to sign Brazilian winger William Gomes, with the FC Porto youngster reportedly attracting interest from the Reds.

The 20-year-old left-footed right winger has emerged as an exciting attacking prospect, possessing the pace, dribbling ability and technical quality to trouble defenders. His ability to cut inside from the right and create goalscoring opportunities makes him an intriguing option for Liverpool’s attack.

However, Porto have strengthened their position by renewing his contract until 2031, with a reported release clause of €100 million, approximately £85 million.

Liverpool must now decide whether Gomes is worth such a significant investment, especially with the club continuing to assess its long-term attacking options.

His age and potential could make him an excellent investment for the future, but adapting to the intensity of the Premier League would be another challenge entirely.

With Porto determined to protect one of their promising talents, any potential deal could prove difficult.

THE BIG QUESTION: Should Liverpool pay £85 million for William Gomes, or should the Reds target a more experienced winger?
