Former Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcântara has been linked with a possible return to Anfield in a coaching capacity under Andoni Iraola, sparking excitement among Reds supporters.

Reports previously suggested that Thiago could be a valuable addition to Iraola’s backroom staff, with journalist David Lynch identifying the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich star as a potential candidate.

Thiago understands Liverpool’s culture and has experience working within Barcelona’s coaching setup. His football intelligence and tactical understanding could make him an interesting figure for the club if a coaching opportunity becomes available.

However, there is a major obstacle. Thiago has previously admitted that he does not yet possess the coaching qualifications required for a senior coaching role in England.

Liverpool have already confirmed several additions to Iraola’s coaching staff, including Pablo de la Torre as an assistant coach, alongside Tommy Elphick, Shaun Cooper and tactical analyst Tom Webber.

For now, a Liverpool reunion for Thiago remains speculation rather than a confirmed return.
