Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United are reportedly monitoring Barcelona defender Jules Kounde ahead of the January transfer window, with the French international’s future at the Spanish club becoming a subject of growing speculation.

According to recent reports, Barcelona could be prepared to consider offers of around €60 million for the versatile defender, who has attracted interest from several Premier League clubs. Bayern Munich are also reportedly keeping an eye on his situation.

Kounde’s Barcelona Future Under Question

Kounde has been an important player for Barcelona since joining from Sevilla in 2022. However, his position in Hansi Flick’s starting lineup has reportedly become less secure this season.

The defender has faced increased competition from Eric Garcia at right-back, raising questions about whether he will continue to enjoy the same level of regular playing time at Camp Nou.

His reduced involvement has reportedly alerted several clubs in England, who could view the situation as an opportunity to strengthen their defences.

Despite the speculation, Kounde remains a Barcelona player, and there is no confirmation that he has requested a transfer.

Chelsea and Arsenal Among Interested Clubs

Chelsea are reportedly among the clubs keeping a close watch on Kounde’s situation. The London club have previously been linked with the Frenchman and could explore the possibility of bringing him to the Premier League.

Arsenal are also reportedly monitoring the defender as they consider their options in the defensive department.

However, a move to either club would depend on their recruitment priorities, Barcelona’s willingness to negotiate and the financial conditions of any potential deal.

Both clubs already have options at right-back, meaning signing Kounde could represent an opportunity to add an experienced defender rather than an urgent requirement.

Liverpool Consider Defensive Reinforcements

Liverpool are another club reportedly interested in Kounde as they assess their options at right-back.

The Frenchman’s versatility could make him an attractive addition, as he is capable of playing both at right-back and centre-back.

His pace, defensive awareness and experience at the highest level could provide valuable flexibility for a team looking to strengthen its back line.

However, the reported asking price could prove a significant obstacle, particularly if Barcelona insist on receiving a substantial fee before allowing him to leave.

Manchester United Also Monitoring the Situation

Manchester United have also been linked with the Barcelona defender as they consider potential defensive reinforcements.

Kounde’s ability to operate in multiple defensive positions could make him a useful option for United, although the club would need to decide whether pursuing a right-back should be a priority.

With several Premier League teams reportedly interested, Manchester United could face considerable competition if they decide to make a formal approach.

Barcelona’s €60m Valuation

Barcelona’s reported valuation of approximately €60 million could determine whether a January transfer becomes realistic.

The Spanish giants are not obliged to sell the defender, who remains under contract until 2030. Any interested club would therefore need to present an offer that Barcelona considers acceptable.

Kounde’s experience, versatility and international pedigree could help justify the asking price, but his wages and the overall cost of the deal could complicate negotiations.

For now, there is no confirmed bid or agreement involving any of the interested clubs.

What Happens Next?

The coming weeks could provide a clearer picture of Kounde’s future, particularly if his playing time at Barcelona remains limited.

Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United are reportedly among the clubs monitoring developments, while Bayern Munich could also enter the conversation.

Nevertheless, a January departure is far from guaranteed. Barcelona must be willing to sell, and any potential buyer must be prepared to meet the club’s financial demands.

For now, Kounde’s situation remains one to watch as the January transfer window approaches.
