LIVERPOOL SUFFER DOUBLE INJURY BLOW AS IRAOLA REACTS TO CRUCIAL BRENTFORD WIN<\/p>\n
Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola has confirmed that Dominik Szoboszlai and Jeremie Frimpong are both expected to spend time on the sidelines after picking up injuries during the Reds\u2019 2-1 Premier League victory over Brentford.<\/p>\n
Szoboszlai had only just returned to the starting line-up after missing Liverpool\u2019s previous two matches with a hamstring problem. Unfortunately, the Hungarian midfielder was forced off during the first half after experiencing discomfort in the same area.<\/p>\n
Speaking after the match, Iraola admitted that the injury had not fully healed, meaning the club would need to give the midfielder more time to recover before he could return to action.<\/p>\n
Frimpong also suffered an injury after coming on at half-time. The defender was introduced to help Liverpool take advantage of Brentford playing with ten men, but he was substituted just six minutes later.<\/p>\n
Iraola explained that Frimpong\u2019s situation was different from Szoboszlai\u2019s, suggesting the defender had developed a new problem. He also mentioned that the player had experienced cramping during Liverpool\u2019s recent Champions League match against LASK.<\/p>\n
The Liverpool boss confirmed that both players would be unavailable for a period of time, providing an unwelcome setback for the team during a demanding run of fixtures.<\/p>\n
Despite the injury concerns, Liverpool managed to secure all three points after coming from behind against Brentford.<\/p>\n
