Liverpool have been urged to address the contracts of Alexis Mac Allister, Virgil van Dijk and Alisson Becker to avoid unnecessary uncertainty under Andoni Iraola.

Mac Allister is reportedly disappointed that Liverpool have yet to offer him a new deal, despite turning down summer opportunities to stay at Anfield. At 27, the midfielder remains a crucial part of the team, offering composure, intelligence and balance. Liverpool should clarify his future before other clubs make serious moves.

Van Dijk’s situation also requires careful consideration. Despite his age, the captain remains an influential leader whose experience could help young defenders like Jérémy Jacquet develop. Liverpool should consider a sensible extension based on his performances, fitness and wages while planning for his eventual successor.

Meanwhile, Alisson remains one of Liverpool’s most valuable players. Although Giorgi Mamardashvili represents the club’s long-term goalkeeping plans, keeping Alisson for another couple of years could provide stability while allowing the younger goalkeeper to develop.

Iraola reportedly wants both Mac Allister and Alisson to remain at Liverpool, highlighting their importance to his plans.

Liverpool should approach each situation differently: offer Mac Allister clarity, assess Van Dijk’s future carefully and retain Alisson if the terms are right.

With significant investment already made in new players, Liverpool must balance future planning with experience and continuity. Keeping key players can be just as important as signing new ones, and the club must act early to avoid unnecessary contract problems.
