Federico Chiesa appears to have taken another step towards returning to action after taking part in a training session with some of Liverpool\u2019s first-team players.<\/p>\n
The Italian winger has missed the opening seven games of the season because of what Andoni Iraola previously described as a \u201csmall muscle injury\u201d suffered after Liverpool\u2019s pre-season friendly against Como.<\/p>\n
Chiesa\u2019s last appearance came on August 16, with the expectation being that he could return to training towards the end of September.<\/p>\n
A new update has now emerged from goalkeeper Hayden Smith, who recently joined Liverpool and was invited to the AXA Training Centre to work alongside some first-team players.<\/p>\n
Smith revealed that he trained with Chiesa and James McConnell during the session.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was great. I was just training and they told me to come in and go up there, to the AXA, to train with Chiesa and McConnell.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s crazy to think, you see them on the telly and then you\u2019re training with them. It was good, it was a good experience,\u201d Smith said.<\/p>\n
The session suggests Chiesa is progressing with his recovery, although Liverpool have yet to confirm when the winger will be available for competitive action.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
