“I Played 359 Games for Liverpool – Salah Is the Most Selfish Player I’ve Ever Seen!”

Graeme Souness once launched a stunning attack on Mohamed Salah, branding the Liverpool superstar one of the most selfish players he had ever watched. 😳

Mohamed Salah is widely regarded as one of the greatest players in Premier League history. Since arriving at Liverpool from AS Roma in 2017 for around £36.5 million, the Egyptian forward has established himself as one of the club’s most influential stars.

However, despite Salah’s incredible goalscoring record and achievements at Anfield, former Liverpool midfielder Graeme Souness has never been afraid to criticise his attitude on the pitch.

😳 Souness Questions Salah’s Attitude

Souness, who made 359 appearances for Liverpool, criticised Salah following his heated touchline exchange with former manager Jurgen Klopp during a Premier League match against West Ham United in 2023.

The disagreement happened when Klopp prepared to bring Salah on late in the game. The exchange attracted widespread attention, with Souness suggesting that the Egyptian was more responsible for the confrontation than his manager.

Souness argued that Salah had a high opinion of himself and was unhappy about being left out of the starting lineup.

He went even further, describing the Liverpool forward as the most selfish player he had ever seen during his time in football.

According to Souness, Salah regularly showed frustration whenever Klopp substituted him, although he acknowledged that a striker’s desire to remain on the pitch and score more goals could also be a positive quality.

He also pointed to Salah’s previous disagreements with Sadio Mane, suggesting that tensions between the two forwards had occurred during their time together at Liverpool.

👀 Souness Makes Another Controversial Claim

The former Liverpool captain also questioned Salah’s response when opponents became physically aggressive.

Souness claimed that the Egyptian sometimes disappeared from matches when the contest became more intense, citing an encounter with Lisandro Martinez during a game against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

In his view, Salah was less comfortable when opponents tried to turn matches into physical battles.

However, Souness’s assessment remains a matter of opinion, and it contrasts sharply with the admiration Salah has earned for his consistency, work rate and performances at the highest level.

🔴 Salah’s Liverpool Legacy Speaks for Itself

Despite the criticism, Salah’s achievements at Liverpool are difficult to overlook.

Since joining the Reds in 2017, he has delivered outstanding goalscoring performances, contributed numerous assists and helped the club win major trophies, including the Premier League and Champions League.

His ability to score consistently, create opportunities and perform in crucial matches has cemented his place among Liverpool’s modern greats.

While Souness has questioned his approach to the game, many Liverpool supporters continue to regard Salah as one of the finest players ever to wear the famous red shirt.

What do you think? 🤔 Was Graeme Souness right about Salah, or was he too harsh on a Liverpool legend?
