Cole Palmer’s first career red card has handed Xabi Alonso a major headache, with the Chelsea star set to miss the trip to Liverpool.
Palmer was sent off against Tottenham after receiving two yellow cards and will serve a one-match suspension, ruling him out of Wednesday’s Carabao Cup clash at Anfield.
Alonso admitted Chelsea were below their best against Spurs, while Gary Neville criticised Palmer for losing his composure late in the game.
