Raul Asencio has opened up about life at Real Madrid, praising Jose Mourinho for his support during his injury recovery and revealing what the coach is like behind closed doors.
Asencio, who recently underwent surgery for a stress fracture in his right tibia, said Mourinho’s hospital visit gave him a major boost and described him as humble, kind and approachable.
The defender also reflected on his journey from the Madrid academy, the pressure of wearing the famous white shirt and taking Dani Carvajal’s No.2 shirt.
Asencio backed Vinicius Jr. to return to his best and believes Kylian Mbappe deserves the Ballon d’Or, while insisting Real Madrid can turn their difficult start around.
