Harvey Elliott has been criticised by Spanish journalist Dario Puig for reportedly arriving at Valencia “out of shape” and “well overweight for his physique.”
The Liverpool loanee has struggled for opportunities since joining Valencia, playing just 85 minutes of a possible 360 and failing to start a match. With the club second-bottom and already changing managers, Elliott now has a chance to impress new boss Javier Aguirre during the international break.
The 23-year-old will hope to use the next few weeks to regain full fitness and revive his fortunes after a difficult 18 months.
