PSG manager Luis Enrique has expressed hope that Manchester City will avoid punishment after appealing the verdict that found them guilty of 114 out of 115 alleged Premier League financial-rule breaches.
Speaking ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League clash, Enrique praised City’s achievements on the pitch, insisting they deserved the trophies they won. He said the final decision rests with the authorities and urged everyone to wait for the outcome of the appeal.
PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi previously defended City, stressing that the verdict was not final and that the club had the right to appeal.
Enrique is also set to reunite with his close friend Pep Guardiola ahead of the European showdown. He said their on-field achievements would remain regardless of the ongoing case, while keeping their private conversation confidential.
