“In this period especially, when we are basically playing every three days – almost less than three days – you need more players. That’s why we changed the team a little bit [on Wednesday].
We will need to change again at the weekend, we will need to change again when we face Villarreal in another three days.”
“We need everyone, we will need everyone in one moment or the other. Everyone has to be ready because we will need him probably,” the coach stated.
Andoni Iraola has left the door open for Cody Gakpo, Alexander Isak, and Dominik Szoboszlai to return for Liverpool’s clash at Gtech Community Stadium.
The key trio missed both the midweek fixture in Austria and the preceding league defeat to Manchester City after suffering injuries while on international duty.
“We have to wait and see,” Iraola explained. “Unlike the previous games where I confirmed they were unavailable, I’m keeping the possibility open this time.
Today, October 17, Liverpool face Brentford in Matchday 7 of the Premier League. On Tuesday, October 20, the Merseyside club will play against Villarreal in Matchday 3 of the UEFA Champions League main stage.
