Man City Predicted XI vs Ipswich: Maresca Considers Haaland Rest
Manchester City will look to bounce back from their 4-2 defeat to PSG, with Enzo Maresca considering how to manage his players’ workload. Erling Haaland scored twice in Paris, but the City boss admits the striker needs rest amid a busy schedule.
However, Haaland is expected to start against Ipswich, with Tuesday’s Champions League clash against AEK Athens a more likely opportunity to rest him.
Phil Foden should return after serving his three-match suspension, while Rayan Cherki could drop to the bench after being substituted at half-time against PSG. Iliman Ndiaye is also pushing for a starting place.
Maresca could rotate his defence and midfield, with Matheus Nunes returning at right-back, Ayyoub Bouaddi potentially starting in midfield and Nico O’Reilly replacing Josko Gvardiol. Ruben Dias and Marc Guehi are expected to retain their places.
Predicted Man City XI vs Ipswich
Donnarumma; Nunes, Dias, Guehi, O’Reilly; Bouaddi, Fernandez; Semenyo, Foden, Ndiaye; Haaland.
