Ayyoub Bouaddi has played 332 minutes across seven appearances for Manchester City this season. At just 19, Enzo Maresca has been patient with the midfielder as he adapts following his move from Lille.
However, Bouaddi is increasingly making a case for a regular starting role. His impact after coming on against PSG helped City improve significantly, while his first Premier League start against Ipswich showed he can handle the physical demands.
With City’s midfield sometimes lacking defensive security, Bouaddi could provide the composure, energy and protection the team needs. Maresca’s patience is understandable, but the youngster now appears ready to take on a bigger role in midfield.
