Manchester City begin their Carabao Cup title defence tonight against Brighton at the Etihad, with both sides expected to deliver an exciting attacking contest.
Brighton have impressed under Fabian Hurzeler this season, while Enzo Maresca is likely to rotate his squad ahead of Saturday’s Premier League clash. Antoine Semenyo remains out with a knee injury, while Matheus Nunes and Iliman Ndiaye are doubts.
Several key players, including Erling Haaland, Josko Gvardiol, Ruben Dias and Elliot Anderson, were given time off after the defeat to Aston Villa, making their involvement unlikely.
With rotation expected, tonight’s game could provide City’s squad players with a major opportunity to impress and fight for more playing time.
