Julian Ward’s arrival as Liverpool sporting director has raised one big question: who will be his first signing?

With the Reds still needing reinforcements, especially in midfield, Lamine Camara could emerge as a major January target. Liverpool remain interested in the Monaco midfielder, who was also wanted by Chelsea after their proposed summer move collapsed.

The Reds need a strong, mobile midfielder capable of playing the holding role and balancing Andoni Iraola’s system. While Alexis Mac Allister is expected to stay, Liverpool still need more physicality and experience in the position.

Chelsea remain interested in Camara, but the failed summer deal reportedly damaged their relationship with Monaco. Liverpool could look to exploit that situation and make Camara Julian Ward’s first major signing in January.
