Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has reacted to Manchester City’s landmark guilty verdict, but insists he is not expecting any retrospective Premier League titles.
Liverpool finished just one point behind City in two title races under Klopp, in 2018/19 and 2021/22. However, Klopp said he is “absolutely fine” with what Liverpool achieved on the pitch and praised Pep Guardiola and City as a “top-class opponent.”
Klopp added that if sanctions are imposed, he will simply “wait and see,” refusing to get carried away by the possibility of Liverpool benefiting from any retrospective changes.
His comments contrast with his famous 2024 joke that he would join a bus parade if City’s titles were ever stripped.
