Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed how terrified he was when he returned to Old Trafford after a serious health battle that left him in intensive care with just a 20% chance of survival.
The Manchester United legend feared losing his speech and memory during his recovery but eventually made a remarkable comeback. Returning to Old Trafford months later, Ferguson admitted he was emotional and overwhelmed by the warm reception from supporters.
Now 84, Ferguson says he is feeling much better. He remains football’s most decorated manager, having won 49 trophies, including 13 Premier League titles and two Champions League crowns with Manchester United.
