The Premier League has found Manchester City guilty of multiple financial-rule breaches, putting clubs such as Leeds United on alert over potential sanctions.
An independent panel ruled that City inflated sponsorship income between 2008 and 2018, giving them greater financial power in the transfer market. City have appealed the verdict, with the outcome potentially leading to fines, points deductions or even expulsion.
Asked about the ruling, Leeds midfielder Ethan Ampadu admitted he had no strong opinion and said the matter would be decided elsewhere.
Leeds are unlikely to receive compensation, however, as they were not in the Premier League during the period covered by the charges.
