Lewis Koumas has impressed both Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola and Wales boss Craig Bellamy, with the 21-year-old emerging as a serious option at centre-forward.
Koumas has seized his opportunity following injuries and limited options in Liverpool’s attack, making five appearances and earning praise for his relentless work rate.
He has also impressed for Wales, starting two games during the current international break and scoring against Ghana earlier this year.
With doubts over Alexander Isak and Cody Gakpo ahead of Liverpool’s clash with Manchester City, Koumas could be handed another major opportunity.
A third Wales start against Denmark would further underline his rapid rise at both club and international level.
